PVP Value-Added Contracts
Definition
As HRSA’s 340B Prime Vendor, Apexus is authorized to contract for products and services beyond covered outpatient drugs. These value-added contracts cover non-covered drug products (such as most vaccines, blood glucose monitoring supplies, and prescription vials and labels) and service contracts (such as pharmacy automation hardware and software).
Value-added contracts provide covered entities with access to competitive pricing on products they need for pharmacy operations that are not covered by the 340B drug pricing mechanism. The PVP value-added price may appear in the 340B and/or WAC accounts for these products.
For covered entities subject to the GPO Prohibition, value-added contracts provide a compliant alternative to GPO arrangements for non-covered outpatient drug products.
